The meeting will then focus on some relevant issues in the context of the psychological assessment of people who have committed serial killings. In particular, the importance of adopting an "evidence-based" approach to the administration of the Rorschach test, in this type of context, will be emphasized in order to have useful data on an interpretative level, and some aspects of psychological functioning will be discussed. of the cases analyzed, in order to identify any similarities between the various Rorschach protocols examined.
Angelo Zappalà will introduce the study of the phenomenon of serial murder in Italy through an analysis of the cases of the last 50 years. Socio-demographic and victimological profiles in cases of serial murder and the modus operandi of serial killers will be analyzed.
Prof Giromini will then introduce the Rorschach test, deepening its "scientific status" in the light of recent empirical evidence and discussing its information / usefulness in expert contexts. It will be underlined, in this context, how the information coming from the Rorschach test is complementary to that obtained through clinical interview or self-report tools, also reviewing some research of a neuro / bio / physiological nature.
